A social graph is a graph that depicts the social relationships that exist between entities. Furthermore, in nutshell, it’s a model or representation of a social network, with the term “graph” derived from graph theory. “The global mapping of everyone and how they relate with others is a social graph”.
Development of this term dates to the Facebook F8 conference on May 24, 2007. An additional purpose was to provide a better online experience on this platform. A social graph appears as a set of network nodes connected by lines when represented as a map. Each node has also a different name, an actor. In fact, it is actually a data record. These nods, edges, or ties create a relationship between the users.
