Browns Lose Another WR To Injury In First Half Against Jets
Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

Prior to kickoff with the Jets on Thursday night, the Browns found out they wouldn’t have top wideout Amari Cooper due to a heel injury. Now, they’ve lost their No. 2 wide receiver as well.

Elijah Moore left the game near the end of the second quarter after having his head slammed to the turf following a 22-yard reception. There were some tense moments immediately afterward as his body seemed to be experiencing some sort of convulsion before trainers gathered around him to assess the situation.

Eventually, he made his way off the field and into the blue medical tent to be evaluated. Later, he walked off the field with trainers to the locker room and was deemed questionable while being evaluated for a concussion. He was later ruled out for the rest of the night.

The scary scene put a damper on what was shaping up to be a memorable night for Moore. The former Jets’ wideout had hauled in five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in the first half. It was already the second best receiving performance of his Browns tenure, topped only by an 83-yard outing four weeks back against the Rams.

The Browns led the Jets 34-17 at the break, thanks to Moore efforts. The 34 points is the most scored in the first half by any team this season.

With Moore unable to return, quarterback Joe Flacco will have to rely on other weapons the rest of the way in a game with major stakes for Cleveland. If they’re able to finish off the win they’d earn a playoff berth for the second time in four seasons.
